Our justice system is exactly spot on with dismissing your appeal. The only governments who create disinformation aka censorship arms are authoritarian like Nazi Germany. And of course the current Democratic leadership who have conspired with big media to censor political opponents.

You have shown significant political bias and are unfit for any judicial or quasi-judicial position. You might want to take Constitutional law at a law school to understand what is protected by our 1st Amendment. Despite your educational background, you advocate for actions that are clearly prohibited by numerous SCOTUS decisions.

Randy, if you’re worried about censorship, I suggest you follow our weekly briefs on what the current administration is up to. https://open.substack.com/pub/americansunlight

I was also never up for a “judicial or quasi judicial” position 😂 where did you get that from? Fox?

Ms Jankowicz suggested that I read her weekly blogs about censorship by the Trump administration. My response

-------------------------------------

Why would I waste my time reading your biased work? You have zero credibility with your history of repeated active promotion of Democratic lies about major events. You stated Hunter Biden laptop story should be viewed as a ‘Trump campaign product.’ You refused to acknowledge that the Steele dossier, perhaps started as opposition work, was actually directed by the Clinton campaign who used a law firm to pay Fusion to hire Steele. A little homework would have revealed that Steele was labeled an unreliable source by UK intelligence.

You marched to the Democratic tune of that Covid did not originate in Wuhan. You praised Chinese & WHO actions without noting how China has become a major funder of WHO, a perfect example of China’s Belt and Road strategy. You quickly re-tweeted false stories about Board Patrol whipping Haitian migrants, only later admitting they were false. You were clearly eager to spread negative news about the Trump administration.

You use the pathetic excuse of fear to refuse to reveal the source of funding for American Sunlight Project. Hmm, maybe an NGO getting Soros money? You want others to be transparent while you hide in the shadows. Frankly Mary Poppins would run rings around your performance.

Randy, you’re parroting a bunch of three year old lies and distortions, and throwing in some complete fabrications for fun. I imagine no fact check would help you out of the nice little den of conspiracies you’ve built for yourself.

But let me address the most disturbing part of your comment, where you call me “pathetic” for discussing the very real threats I’ve received and want to keep others from experiencing.

Being threatened the way I was and continue to be is not something I would wish on anyone, even those who have lied about me. Do you have children or grandchildren? While I was pregnant with my son, weeks away from giving birth, I was told I should be raped, murdered, put to death, or that I should commit suicide. My home address was shared online and a security expert told me I should leave my home. I have been recognized on the street by people who wish me harm. I sought and obtained a protective order against a man who was stalking me.

So, Randy, there is nothing “pathetic” about the threats I have faced, and I feel a duty to protect others from what I’ve experienced. I expect you’d do the same if you, your children or grandchildren were targeted.

Be well.

Nina, you absolutely deserve to be safe with your family and in all the activities you do. Another threatening you is a criminal and evil. I do not care for your work, but you have the right to life, liberty and happiness.

What you experienced, though, is what many conservatives from members of Congress, a SCOTUS judge, pro-life advocates and others have experienced because of the constant demonizing of Republicans and Conservatives by Democratic leaders - Biden, Schumer, Clinton, Harris, Walz, Jeffries and so on. Only a tiny handful, like Fetterman, refrains. So after listening to years of these tirades, a Sept 10 poll just found that 26% of Liberals under 45 compared to only 7% of conservatives believe that political violence is sometimes justified. That's incredibly bad, but completely understandable.

So if you feel you have a duty to protect others, why are your writings so one sided? Why have you virtually never talked about liberal/leftist disinformation? How can you make the statement that liberal commentators have been censored more than conservatives? Has a Democratic President or presidential candidate had his/her account taken down on a major media platform? Your statement is as laughable as as the NYC's Ms Schaffer testifying in a budget hearing that no family slept in the streets in her housing director tenure.

The internet never forgets and I looked at numerous articles you've written and testimony you've given. My characterizations are accurate.

I'm sure too you've noted how many readers have liked my notes compared to those that like yours. I will uphold your rights to make whatever lopsided statements you want, but your track record is so biased, you have no credibility as an objective commentator. We need objectivity and fairness to function as a strong society. How about starting with balanced analyses?

Thanks for engaging respectfully.

This isn’t the time or place to address a lot of what you’ve brought up, but maybe I will write a longer post on this later.

Disinformation isn’t partisan, as I’ve said in multiple congressional testimonies, including one at the invitation of Chuck Grassley in 2018. Left wing disinformation exists. I’ve called it out plenty. The truth is I want everyone to be able to better navigate today’s polluted information environment. That’s what my career has been dedicated to. You’re taking a minuscule portion of my actual body of work—a couple of tweets out of hundreds of pages of publications—completely out of context (and in a few cases making things up entirely, but that’s not your fault).

Btw, you have more likes than me because hundreds of X users who believe the lies about me are sharing the post. Thanks to everyone for reading 😘

Nina - your complaints in a substack post are deeply American. But wielding the strong arm of government against people whose statements you determined to be false, is deeply un-American.

Pundits absolutely have the right to declare open season against you or any other agent of government - that's our system. You had the arrogance (well-intentioned, I'm sure) to think that you can or should police other people's words and thoughts. That's not our system.

Thanks for being polite. The thing is, Joseph, I never “wielded the strong arm of the government against people whose statement I determined to be false” or “had the arrogance…to think that you can or should police other people's words and thoughts.”

It was never my job, and never something I would have done. My role was about creating policy that would have *protected* free speech, privacy, and civil liberties.

I did a five hour sworn deposition before the House Judiciary Committee, where I explained under oath that everything you’ve just asserted—and that Fox asserted— was false. Please go ahead and read it. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/6612cbdfd9a9ce56ef931004/t/674474762fc6d928c2223f3f/1732539511032/Jankowicz+Transcript_Redacted.pdf

Thank you. I will read it. I will say this - most of the people I know in government, from Members of Congress to staff to agencies are bright, committted and well-intentioned. I'm sure you're the same.

Can you understand why anyone associated with an organization called The Disinformation Governance Board would raise the hackles of mainstream Americans?

Think about all of the lies and deception we've seen over the past 5 years - origins of covid, BLM, Hunter Biden laptop, Gaza genocide, trans-women are actually women, etc.

If I ran a disinformation governance board I'd certainly want to crack down on all of those things. But someone else might choose a different list. The power which you would not be willing to give me, I will in return not be willing to give you, or anyone else.

I wish you much luck in the future. But I'm not unhappy that the Disinformation Governance Board was discredited and shut down. It was a mis-step and you were set up for opprobrium from the day you accepted the job.

Peace.

Stephanie, I’m sorry that you’ve been lied to for so long. I made one comment about the Hunter Biden laptop—soon after the laptop’s release, I told the AP my opinion that it should be treated as a Trump campaign product. Given that it was being shopped around by Giuliani, who was not allowing outside cybersecurity experts verify the information it contained, I stand by that comment. (An opinion, by the way, that I’m entitled to under the First Amendment, which you love, right?) If you’d like to point me to my other “lies”—primary sources, not what Fox or any other partisan media told you—maybe we can have a conversation, but I doubt it, since you seem focused on landing playground-level barbs that do nothing to me except make me feel sorry for you.

Or maybe it's simply YOU who don't understand the First Amendment and how that limits the scope of libel law in the United States. What Fox did was, like it or not, take a swipe at someone who was a public figure and preparing to head an agency that had strong implications for free expression. Just because Fox's *interpretation* of the board's powers differs from yours does not make their claims defamatory.

I hasten to add that what the Trump administration is doing dwarfs what those of you on the anti-free speech left were attempting to do a few years ago, but I thoroughly point the finger at you and people like you who helped pave the way for the disaster we're now facing.

Maybe you need to rethink just what you're doing with your life.

1. The lawsuit never asked for a specific amount in damages. It asked for an amount to be determined by a jury.

2. The costs of my legal and security bills over the last three years has exceeded $100,000. I’ve raised less than that for my GoFundMe. Do the math. This isn’t a grift. It’s the difference between surviving and financial ruin for me and many others who have been attacked by this administration and its allies.

No, I have actually never made any comment about what the platforms should or shouldn’t have done. What I did say about the laptop: that it should be treated like a Trump campaign product. If you’d recall, during the 2020 election, Rudy Giuliani was not allowing anyone to review the laptop for authenticity. My message was that we should all proceed with caution. Hope you get some better information.

PS you cared about the laptop because of allegations of corruption (against a man who was not running for or in any public office) right?? I guess you’re incensed about Tom Homan’s corruption too?
